Giveback to the Community

Earth provides enough to satisfy every man's need, but not every man's greed. —Mohandas K. Gandhi

It is said, young minds are more impressionable and your behavior & thinking gets set during the young adolescent age.

Exposure to many NGOs and similar groups during my early childhood helped me get aware and interested in making small contributions to the society at large. Small efforts by all can help bring big change.  I developed a passion for working towards Women Empowerment  when I volunteered my time to work  with the NGO “Swanthana” - a home for girls abandoned by the parents because they were “girls”. The interactions made me think and reflect on the state of women in our society and also realize how lucky I have been in life as I never faced any such thing in my upbringing.  I have since been trying to be a voice for women rights. ‘Manifesting HER-story’ and ‘Girl up Legacy’ are such steps in that direction of creating awareness for women empowerment. I hope to work more on this in the future and create a bigger impact.

Environment has also been a passion and I hope small efforts from us all today can help make a big difference. “Youthopeian”, was an effort in that direction to create awareness about climate change and sustainability among the youth as we are the ones who are going to inherit the planet from our parents and care for it for our future generations.

I created an Instagram organization focusing of women empowerment and feminism. Over 800 followers and over 1000 visitors on the account with different individuals from the community conducted webinars and campaigns to make a stance for women empowerment.

Organized table reads and debates in school with a main aim to build a powerful and aware community on social issues around the world.

Rotary Club Bangalore

Thanks to my involvement with the Rotary Interact club, Indiranagar, Bangalore, I had a formidible impact on my awareness and interest in the areas of Women empowerment and Sustainability at a very early age. Via Rotary club, we paired up with many NGOs and volunteered for multiple events. We held donation drives for old clothes and books and donated them to the “Samarthan” NGO. We visited Shishu mandir, a non-profit educational institution and taught kids of various ages Science experiments, English, Origami, and Songs. We also spend time volunteering at old age homes and regularly visited “Swanthana”, an orphanage of female children.
